One of the most important things we need to realize whenever we attempt to something with or for another, is that we cannot give what we do not have. A corollary is we give what we have regardless of what our mind thinks we may be giving. We must first become and/or have what we desire to give.

The basis issue (Top)

The basic issue is we face is addressed by the following. I ask you for one hundred dollars. If you have one hundred dollars you have a choice to give it to me. Whether or not you give it to me is not the issue. The point is that you have it to give. However, if you do not have a hundred dollars to give, there is nothing you can do to give it to me no matter how much you want to give it to me. If you don’t have it to give, you can’t give it.

The statement, "we cannot give what we don’t have," is obvious for material things. We cannot give money if you have none and you cannot give food if you have none. However, we fail to understand, this statement applies at every level of our being. It is probably clear, we know a tree by its fruits. An apple tree gives apples. An orange tree give oranges. You can’t get apples from an orange tree. The apples and oranges come from the essence of the tree and the essence of each tree is different. So too with our being and what we experience in life. We can only give from our essence and what is in our essence.

In exploring our creativity, it became clear that many of us are unable to get what we desire in life, especially such things as love, because we are unable to first get what we desire within ourselves. That is, we are unable to create the necessary conditions within our own being to have what is necessary to create the desired external experience. We must somehow change the essence of our being. This inability to change the essence of our being is not the result of inability to create it. Rather it was because there are certain concepts and understanding about how we create our experiences that were never provided to us.

This is true for anything in our life and/or we give to another. We cannot give what we do not have. We have to somehow become what we desire to experience. For example, if we cannot love ourselves and love ourselves in the way we need to be loved including our bodies, we cannot give love to another. We may give duty, obligation, expectations, an image of what we think love is, but we cannot give love simply because we do not have it to give. But this is true for anything we desire. We look for satisfaction in what we desire externally rather than finding satisfaction in who and what we are. Then allow who and what we are to create the experience we desire to have.

We have to become both the creator and the creation. It is to do a dance between the inner masculine and inner feminine aspects of our being. We need to desire with the masculine as reflected in our mind. Then we must surrender to the flow of energy reflected in our heart and the feminine aspect which will nurture and create the necessary inner conditions to be reflected externally to manifest the desired experience.

To look for satisfaction in what we desire externally causes us to live in separation and feeling separated from the source of our being. To find satisfaction in who and what we are allows us to feel a wholeness within our being and experience a oneness in our life with Creation. Here our desires arise from a desire to share the abundance in our life with others rather than looking for another to satisfy our need.

There is an ancient esoteric principle which states, "As within, as without, as above, so below." Insights from the implication of the pair production phenomenon to our creative endeavors provide a way to understand how and why this principles is true. More importantly, the insights provided from understanding energy and consciousness help us to better understand the role of our inner masculine and the role of the inner feminine. Understanding the inner masculine and inner feminine help us to see how they relate to, and influence, our external relationships.

The issue of the essence of our being (Top)

In looking at the essence of our being, there are three levels from which we can create and each can be seen as our essence. The question is how deep do we want to go and from level do we ant to work.

The first level of our essence - the deepest level (Top): What needs to be understood is that we all arise from the same Source of Creation. At the deepest and most profound layers of Creation we are all the same. Although it may be too much to be believed, as presented in the Creation Story for the Creativity Perspective, we are the consciousness within, or behind, Creation experiencing its Creation. The deepest essence of our being we are consciousness at play with itself. At the deepest essence of our being is to be in spontaneous and innocent childlike play of discovery and exploration of the Creation in which we find ourselves as that Playmate of Consciousness.

The second level of our essence - that which gives rise to Creation (Top): However, the illusion of mind which gives rise to the illusion of Creation first causes each aspect of the infinite consciousness within, or behind, Creation to experience itself as an independent point of consciousness which must awaken to its true nature. This is the second level from which our creative endeavors arise and this level is the essence which gives rise to Creation. Here lies a two fold issue.

One is that each aspect is a unique aspect. This will always cause any one individual point of consciousness to perceive itself and the Creation it experiences differently than any other individual point of consciousness. The illusion of mind holds us to seeing and experience Creation as a unique aspect of the consciousness within, or behind, Creation without realizing we are this consciousness only experiencing its Creation. This is the illusion of Creation that starts the whole experience of Creation.

The second issue is that we must awaken to the awareness that we are this consciousness within, or behind, Creation experiencing its Creation. That is, we awaken from the most fundamental awareness that "I exist" and move along an infinite spectrum to the consciousness awareness of what has been call a conscious Cosmic Consciousness. However, if we awaken to the awareness of Cosmic Consciousness, we will find ourselves back exactly at the point which gives rise to the Creation Story for the Creativity Perspective. That is, we become aware that we are all that exists desiring a playmate with whom to share our Creation. We only come full circle and start the process all over again.

The third level of our essence - the essence of the Creation we experience and what can and cannot give (Top): What lies in between these two points of "I exist" and "I am all that there is looking for a playmate" is the illusion of mind and the essence of our being which gives us the experience of Creation we currently experience in any one moment. This is the third level of our essence and is the essence of our being from which we create our experiences and is the level to which we normally refer to as the essence of our being. It is the illusion held by our mind by how we have focused our attention and awareness by our belief structure created by how and what we think and believe and the experiences we have had.

What we must come to understand is we give only what we hold in our mind. Although creative play lies at the deepest essence of our being, we cannot give that play to another nor can we create the space for another to have the freedom to experience it if we ourselves cannot be it. The same is true for any other quality that comes from the deepest levels of our being that arise from the Source. To access our deepest essence which lies behind the illusion of our mind as an independent point of consciousness we must totally surrender the transcendental mind and transcendental ego and our enculturated mind and enculturated ego to be full alignment with the flow from Source. Otherwise we cannot give from the deepest essence of our being. Rather we give what we hold in our mind.

We can only give what we have created within ourselves and with our mind and what it thinks and judges. We must first create within ourselves the qualities that we wish to give or be before we can give them or become them. This is true for love, compassion, peace, freedom or any other quality that flows from within into the external world. If we have hate, anger, frustration, pain, avoidance and the like within our heart, how can we expect to give some thing other than hate, anger or frustration, pain and avoidance?

What needs to be understood is that what we believe and how we believe colors or adulterates the creative life energy that flows through our being so that the expression of that energy is not as rich, clean, and full as it could be. It essence we muddy the clear waters which give life by how and what we think and believe.

Now it needs to be understood that there is nothing wrong with coloring or adulterating the creative life energy for that is what Creation is all about and that is what we are here to do. The issue here is simply that we cannot give what we have not created within ourselves. We can only give in the way we have colored and tarnished our creative life energy. If we wish to give something other that what we are, we will have to first create it within our being before we can give it. This is true for anything and everything.

How we create what we experience and can and cannot give (Top)

The deepest essence of our being is to be in spontaneous and innocent childlike play of discovery and exploration of the Creation in which we find ourselves as a playmate of the consciousness within, or behind, Creation. As a Playmate of Consciousness we cause reality to mold itself by how we think and what we believe. How ever we perceive the creative life energy of the universe, we eventually translate that energy into thoughts or images of mind so that we can understand and interpret what we perceive. We translate the energy into thoughts and images by using the experiences we have had, our beliefs and how we believe. Hence, every thought we have and every action we take thought we have and every action we take is a fruit of our being.

More important, each of these thoughts and each of the action we take has within its essence the essence of our being. Here the essence of our being is the intention or intentions that we hold because of how we have come to integrate our experiences, our beliefs and how we believe into a synthesized view of ourselves and the universe we experience. Additionally, just as an apple and orange have a seed within to create an apple or orange tree, each thought and each action can become the seed for future action for every action we take we have an intention imbedded in it. Our intentions are the essence of our being made manifest in the world and our thoughts and actions resulting from those intentions are the fruit of our being.

Why we do what we do is often as important, if not more important, than what we do for what we actually are doing is living the essence behind our actions. Our actions are planting a seed corresponding to our essence. No matter how "good" and "noble" our actions appear on the outside, there is a seed within that action that is reflective of the intention behind that action. If that intention is self serving, that intention will reveal itself in the fruits. Our "good" and "noble" actions will eventually be seen for what they are - self serving.

We often puzzle at our actions because they don’t seem to bring into the world what we expect. A big part of the problem is that we have not looked carefully at what is our intention for why we acted the way we did and looked into the essence of our being. If we give money to a charity we must understand our deepest intention of why we give that money for our money plants the seed of the intention behind that actions. If we give simply and only because we believe in what the charity does, we will further their cause. If we give because we feel we are obligated at some level to give, we only create obligation and the charity will end up requiring obligations from those who participate in that charity. If we give because it "looks good" to give, we will be helping to create a charity that "looks good" and does all the "right" things but it will be shallow and add little value or only a fraction of the value that is possible.

Because of they way consciousness defines itself, many of the intentions for our life go back to the way we learned to mimic our earliest care givers. All their actions and words carried intentions that laid seeds within our being. Many of those seeds grew and have born fruit in our lives and in our actions. So, in turn, each generations plants the seeds of the last generations until a generation wakes up and understands how they are only giving what they themselves have created. What needs to be understood is the fruits of our intentions will go on for generations with out us. Our offspring, both physical children and any other type of creation we created, and those with whom we interact will carry the seed of our intention without any of us realizing this fact. Often the seed will lie dormant until conditions are correct and then that seed will grow and bear fruit.

We each needs to learn to do their own maintenance and give to ourselves out of love of ourselves as a unique aspect of the consciousness within, or behind, Creation. We need to love to honor the Creator who created us and first create within our being what it wish to give and share. To be able to give anything from within our being, we will first have to create a seed condition within our being and grow what we wish to give within our own being and become it. We must become the creation we desire to experience.

A car will not run if we don’t change the oil and give it gas. We need to do for us within our being what we need to do at each and every level of our being to create the correct conditions for what we wish to give. Since we each are unique, our needs will be unique. We cannot give what one does not have.

When it comes to discovering and exploring how we create our experiences and create our reality both inside and out, we must become very intimate with ourselves to fully understand ourselves both as a consciousness and as a body within Physical Creation. We cannot be intimate with another, with our Creator, or our creation until we are intimate with ourselves. Being intimate with ourselves is discovering ourselves. When we have discovered ourselves, we can and will give discovery of oneself to another and it is only in discovering ourselves that we can return to the source of our being. In returning to the Source we can learn to become the Source. Then and only then can we learn the true creative process that lies within each individual. When we have found it and have it, we can then share it with another.

Giving from the Source (Top)

We cannot give the creative play characteristic of the Source to another nor can we create the space for another to have the freedom to experience it if we ourselves cannot be it. The same is true for any other quality that comes from the deepest levels of our being that arise from the Source Itself. Unless we totally surrender the transcendental mind and its ego and our enculturated mind and its ego to be full alignment with the flow from Source, we cannot give from the deepest essence of our being.

We can only give to the level we have gone. We can only give what we have created within ourselves and with our current mind and what it thinks and judges. We must first create within ourselves the qualities that we wish to give before we can give them. This is true for love, compassion, peace, freedom or any other quality that flows from within into the external world. If we cannot create an unconditional love within ourselves for ourselves and unconditionally love ourselves both inside and out as the unique creation that we are, how can we give love to another?

We cannot consciously give unconditional love unless we have consciously experienced it and become it. Most have not. Most have only experienced conditional love and that is what they give. If we do not have peace in our heart and calmness within our being, how can we give it to another. We can’t give peace if we not found peace and are not peaceful at every level of our being. We can’t give freedom if you don’t have it. We can only give what we have. If we have hate, anger, frustration and the like within our heart, how can we expect to give some thing other than hate, anger or frustration? We can’t give or create abundance if we do not have it and live in it ourselves. Having a lot of material wealth does not necessarily mean we live in abundance. It just may be we are constipated or like to collect material things. Although we may have material wealth, w can still carry and be living in a world of poverty. Although we are financially the richest person in the world we can still have a mentality of poverty and be spiritually, mentally, emotionally impoverished, including our physical body. Most importantly, in any area and in any aspect of life, we can only give to the depth we have gone ourselves. More importantly, in give what we have, we become a model for it. However, if we try and give what we don’t have, we manifest separation within our being and wear ourselves out in one way or another in maintaining the falsity.

A note of caution in what we give (Top)

There is a note of caution that needs to be made here. We can create a state of fun and enjoyment within our being and people come and experience the fun we have. They can become so enamored by what we have they want it. However, rather than do the necessary work to become it, they will attempt to stick to us much like a parasite to stay in our joy and bliss. In doing so, they will drain our energy because they will attempt to hold, own and/or otherwise control us in some way. If we are unwilling or unable to teach them how to create what they desire within themselves, we won’t be able to show them how to get out our life or we will have to leave the joy and bliss and create something more unpleasant so they don’t want to be around us. This is true unless, of course, we feed off them and make them our servants rationing out our joy and bliss based on our terms. But then, what we are doing is in this case is only reflecting our essence and we will need to face we were never as free as the other first imagined.

An overall summary (Top)

What needs to be understood is that what we believe and how we believe colors or adulterates the creative life energy that flows through our being so that the expression of that energy is not as rich, clean, and full as it could be. We allow, or cause, our creative life energy to be untarnished only when we are out of judgments, opinions, biases and the like of our created mind and created identity. We can use our creative life energy to create whatever we chose to create without tarnishing the energy if we can be outside our ego and out of mind, both transcendental mind and enculturated mind.

Now it needs to be understood and emphasized that there is nothing wrong with coloring or adulterating the creative life energy. That is what Creation is all about and that is what we are here to do. The issue here is just that we cannot give what we have not created within ourselves. To think we can is an illusion of mind. We can only give in the way we have colored and tarnished the flow of our creative life energy. If we wish to give something other that what we currently are, we will have to first become the creator to transform ourselves and create it within our being before we can give it.

To understand how to create the correct conditions and find out what we need to do to create any quality, ability or experience so we can give it to another we need to go within and find what changes need to be made. To do so, it is recommended we ask our intuitive guidance. We do this by going to our heart and what we feel. It is to go to the source of our creative life energy and calm ourselves as if we were watching the ripples of a pond slowly dissipate their energy and the pond becoming completely calm. Then ask our intuitive guidance, "What must I do or how must I change to create within me the conditions that will allow what I wish to create to grow within me and bear fruit to give to others in the external world?" We will then need to listen and follow the honor the guidance we are given.

A general role is that before we attempt to give anything, we should first go within and see what we are really trying to give and what is motivating us to give. Is it obligation, clearing our conscience, habit, because we don’t know what else to do, giving because it is part of our passion to give, or any of a variety of other reasons. Then we should ask, "Do I have within me what I wish to give?" If we are giving money but not giving out of a feeling of abundance for life and that all our needs will be met, we are giving scarcity no matter how much money we give. We must first create within ourselves what you wish to give. How we give it are only the actions that allow what is within to be manifested. Otherwise, we give both a bitter fruit and become a model for separation for our actions are separate from who we really are and what is really motivating us. This is why so few experience the oneness and interconnectedness of Creation. We fail to see how the inner is reflected in the outer to create the conditions within and then have the reflected externally. Rather we mask what lies within and experience a world of separation Very subtle but nevertheless extremely true.
