Summary

From a creativity perspective, the most important statement that can be made about the Source of Creation is that it is not what mind thinks that it is. It is our experience of mind which keeps us from knowing the truth about the Source of Creation and understanding our connecting with it.

Overview (Top)

The Source of Creation is the Source out of which all Creation arises. It is the Source of our being. That is, our existence arises from the Source. We can never be removed from the Source for it continually sustains us. We may lack conscious awareness of the Source and/or a conscious awareness of our connection with the Source as a result of the illusion of mind, but we can never be removed or separated from it. We are the Source manifested. Everything emanates, grows and unfolds from a single Source.

Our total being, not just our physical being but our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical being is molded from Creation and/or the same material of Creation. We are it. Ultimately Creation, in its entirety is a direct reflection of what is inside our consciousness as discussed in the Creation Story for the Creativity Perspective and we are a direct reflection of Creation. The discussions, “Origins of Creation” and “The observer - observed pair and the nature of duality” provide a way of see how all arises from the same Source of Creation and we can never be separated from the Source.

Many mystics talk about the Source of Creation being a place of “no-thing-ness” out which all Creation arises. This statement is true in the sense that one aspect of the Source of Creation has no form. It is “no-thing” but has the possibility of being everything. But in other ways this statement is misleading for all of Creation is only the Source flowing into and out of form in an endless ebb and flow. To see the Source other that all of Creation in any and all forms it is a statement of the perception of mind. As discussed below the mind greatly biases what we experience and it often does so incorrectly.

Realizing all Creation is the Source, all that can be said about what individuals perceive the Source of Creation to be is that it is free, unbounded, unconditional energy consciousness (no-thing-ness, no-form). The Source is totally unconditional it its creation/Creation and what it nourishes and sustains. The energy within Creation will mold itself into an experience of whatever on which consciousness focuses its attention and awareness and in to a form based on whatever consciousness thinks and believes. . It does not matter what it is. In this regard, the Source gives freely to what consciousness desires to experience. In this regard, creation/Creation is intentional and there is a conscious or nonconscious intention which gives rise to any creation.

When our creative life energy become free and unbounded, we can experience the source as free and unbounded energy consciousness. In this moment, the Source can be experiences as a state of true freedom. It is a place of freedom of movement in any direction. Any true creative endeavor will cause us to pass through this free and unbounded state of the Source to free the energy for the new creation. However, most do so in nonconsciousness and/or unawareness.

Anything more said about the Source of Creation is only the perception of some aspect of consciousness which has awakened and characterizing the Source based on its past experiences. The best we can do to know the Source is learn to observe the properties, characteristics and phenomenon as to how energy consciousness, energy and consciousness manifest and realize our mind and its past experiences are biasing what we think we know about the Source of Creation and how it functions. The Source of Creation is a place of freedom which becomes biased by what consciousness thinks and believes in order to have an experience of Creation.

From a creativity perspective, what is important to realize, any creative endeavor will take us back to the Source of Creation in some way. Consciousness then biases the freed energy it experiences at the Source of Creation by what it thinks and believes. In doing so, it causes the free unbounded energy of the Source to form into an experience of Creation. In this process, consciousness experiences the Source but it is experiencing the Source in the form of what it thinks and believes. This is the illusion of mind and we do not experience Creation for what it really is and how we are actually the creator of the experiences and the reality we experience.

When we create, we change how and what we think and believe in some way. That change causes us to go back to the Source where the existing form of mind based on what we currently think and believe is dissolved. In doing so, the energy giving rise to the existing creation is released or switched into a new pattern to take a new form. The new form is based on the new belief structure giving rise to our creative idea on which we act. Acting on the creative idea then directs the freed energy to form into an experience. If we don’t let go of what currently exists, can cannot create.

But Creation has a creative tension that causes and ebb and flow of energy and consciousness into our out of form or into and out of the Source. For every creation formed there is a creative tension that pulls that creation to dissolve and return to the Source. Consciousness experiences the pull of this creative tension as a longing for something. In reality, it is simply the experience of the creative tension pulling us back to the source/Source. It is an endless dance of energy and consciousness or the dance of the masculine and feminine. It is the masculine thrusting out of consciousness based on what mind thinks and believes only to experience the feminine nurturing flow of energy to experience a creation which eventually dissolves back into the Source out of which it came.

Problems in perceiving the Source (Top)

In talking about the Source of Creation, we need to consider several biases we carry that greatly influence our perception of the Source. They are: mind only knows what it has experienced, the mind is finite where as the Source is infinite, our experience of the Source is determined what we think and believe before the experience of the Source, and finally, we are aware of the Source through what we feel, not what we think.

Mind only knows what is has experienced (Top): The first is that our mind will interpret whatever we perceive based on our past experiences. For any experience we have mind will use its past experience to characterize, explain or otherwise describe what we experience. But mind has never had a conscious experience of the Source for mind came into existence as a product of Creation. Mind arise from the creative process emanating from the Source. All conscious experiences of mind are of a particular form of the Source. In essence, being part of the creation process and a result of the process, mind can never see the full process of which it is a part Nor can it see and experience what gives rise to itself. This is why a traditional experience of the Source of Creation is a void, a place of “no-thing-ness” and without form. Mind does not have the experience of what it really means to be the Source so it simply sees as a void.

However, in looking at other creative processes of which mind is not part, we can see all of Creation arises out of energy consciousness. We can see that which lies at the Source is free, unbounded unconditional energy consciousness. But the truth of the matter is, all is only the Source manifest or in a manifested form, a form determined by what consciousness thinks and believes. The key to seeing the Source for what it is with our mind it is to become a detached witness and to extrapolate what we see is other creative processes to see what is the true nature of Creation such that all we experience arises from the same basic material of Creation.

The mind is finite but the Source is infinite (Top): A second problem mind has is that mind as we know it is only the sum total of all the experiences it has had. That is, mind is the composite of a finite set of experience. The Source of Creation gives rise to all that has ever existed, does exist and will exist. It is infinite. It will take an infinite number of experiences of our mind to fully experience the Source of Creation. The best we can do is approximate what we think the Source of Creation is based on the experiences we have had. Any understanding mind has will, in some way, be incorrect and not address the full spectrum of what is possible. This includes the energy consciousness model as used, discussed and applied in the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity material. What is provided in energy consciousness model and the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity material that makes the approach so different is that they provide way to hold our creativity sacred such that we can expand into the infinity of our own being and into the infinity of the Source.

Our experience of the Source is determined what we think and believe (Top): A subtly about the experience of the Source is the Source is seldom seen for what it is because what we experience and remember about the experience of the Source is determined by what we think and believe when we enter the experience. This issues is further discussed in the topic “The problem of mind and the experience of the Source of Creation - the trap of mind.”

What is important to realize is that we must be as close as possible to having a beginner’s mind and/or having become lost in creative play when we consciously experience the Source of Creation. This allows the experience to imprint our psyche with a memory and feeling without bias. It may take us years to fully understand the experience we had. But, if we have the imprinted memory and feeling without bias, we can continually go back and recall the experience to see exactly what we experienced as we gain a deeper and broader experience of life. This is why not doing practices are so important. They continually cause us to step out of mind and who and what we think we are and how we have defined ourselves. In doing so, we gain a much broader and deeper experience of life that if we stay in our limited perspective. The broader and deeper experiences then allows us to  more accurately interpret and/or characterize experience of the Source we had.

We are aware of the Source through what we feel (Top): If we think and look carefully, we can come to see only in feeling or as a result of a feeling do we chose to act to cause something to happen. Unless there is a feeling and passion of some type, whether it be love, hate, anger, hunger, pain, or the like, we will not act. All creative power arises from feeling. Creative ability is determined by mind. Creative ability is determined by what we think and believe and how we choose or do not choose to act on what we feel. But the power to create arises from feeling. We can use what we think and believe to create feelings, but without the feeling, there is no power to act.

The mind does not feel. It can recall the feeling of experiences we have had and it will interpret any feeling we have. It can even create feelings. In this regard, we can become the source/Source as discussed below. But it is consciousness which feels. Consciousness can be aware and awake to what we feel or we can be asleep and unaware. To access our creative power, we need to be aware and awake to what we feel. In any case, mind in itself does not feel. It is a collection of memories and how we put those memories together to think and believe.

If we are aware and awake, we can accurately feel the Source for what it is and recognize it by what we feel. We can feel the freedom of movement that it provides and we know the Source through feeling and the freedom it provides. If we are awake and aware we can feel that freedom in another. If we move into experiences where the feeling of the experience allow us to experience an expansion within our being, we are moving toward the Source and increasing our creative ability and creative power. If we move into experiences that cause us to feel a restriction or shrining, we are moving away from the Source and shrinking or reducing our creative ability and creative power.

We do not, and cannot, know the Source through what mind thinks. Many who experience the Source with mind become terrified of it. It has been reported as experiencing a vast abyss into which we can fall or as if we are a balloon being pumped up and we will explode. Yet others experiences simply experience wonderment and “ah” or fulness of being that is overwhelming to mind that all that can be uttered is “ah” at what is experienced. Now we can create an experience of what we think the Source of Creation is as determined by mind and what we think and believe. This is how we create all our experiences. But what we create is not an experience of the Source. What we create is only what mind thinks and believes is the Source.

We must be out of mind and the bias of mind to know what the true feeling of the Source. This is why a beginner’s mind or a mind lost which become totally lost in creative play has the best opportunity to see the Source of Creation for what it truly is. To try and access the Source to escape pain, escape any conditions of physical life or escape any experience of Creation may cause us to experience wonderful ecstatic experience. But what we will experience is not the Source. We will only experience what mind thinks and believes is the experience of the absence of that which we are running away.

The Source is accessible only through the depth of our feelings when we are open to feeling. It is when we are open to feeling the very depth of our being simultaneously at each and every level of our being - spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. How mind interprets what it experiences in such a feeling is, of course, another issues. In this regard, there are an infinite number of ways to interpret what is experienced at the Source. Each of these infinite experiences will give rise to a different creation/Creation or experience of creation/Creation. In this regard, we, as all of Creation, is simply the Source being experiences in a different way.

The relationship of the source and the Source (Top)

In talking about the source of our creative power and the Source of Creation, many will see and experience them quite differently. Many see the source of our creative power as that which gives rise to our ability to create. An experience of the source would then be to experience our optimum or greatest creative ability and creative power.

The Source of Creation is seen as that which gives rise to all of Creation. For most, it is seen by their mind as some enormous source of creative power that exceeds anything into which a human can tap. If there is any consciousness associated with the Source of Creation, it is seen as God or the Creator who is seen to control the creative powers available in the Source of Creation and separate form us. Few see and understanding, we are the Source experiencing Its Own Creation.

Although difficult for our mind to comprehend, the source of our creative power, the source of our being is the Source of Creation and the Source of Being. They are one and the same. The subtly is that source/Source is something that can only be felt as a feeling. We can feel the energy flow from the unmanifested Source into the manifested form we experience as Creation. What we experience when we are in that feeling is determined by how we focus our attention and awareness.

As a human being, the human experience is such that we are intentionally blinded as to seeing the Source while we are in a human body. The body forces the focus of our attention and awareness into the external world. In this regard, the body stands a shield that does not allow us to see the Source that sustains the body for what it is. This is why so many traditions talk about the need to transcend the body or access Heaven or Nirvana when we are no longer encumbered by a body. However, nothing can be farther from the truth.

It is only a matter of our conscious awareness decoupling itself from the body as a detached witness and looking “upstream” as to the flow of energy that sustains our being. The body is designed to focus our attention and awareness to look “downstream” into what has or is manifesting in Physical Creation. By looking “upstream” we can look into the Source of Creation. What we see is, of course, significantly biased by our mind.

If we are focused upward as a detached witness and can step out of mind to become lost in what we feel, we can stumble into a conscious experience of the Source in the Ultimate Accident. In doing so, we can experience the Source for what it is - total freedom of movement. In that total freedom of moment, we access and unlimited creativity and the creative ability and creative power to create whatever we choose. Unfortunately, mind eventually steps in and limits what we access to the limits and boundaries of our conscious and nonconscious beliefs and subsequently thinking.

Play and the experience of the Source  (Top)

In talking about play, there are two plays we can talk about. One is what mind thinks is play and one is a definition of play which describes the Source of Creation. Whatever we think play is, most probably it is not the play we experience at the Source of Creation. Whatever our mind thinks is play will most probably only prevent us from experience the play that lies at the Source of Creation. To experience the play that exist at the Source of Creation we need to step out of mind and any judgements, limits, barriers, beliefs and any other constraint mind can impose. We need to have a beginner’s mind with no preconceived ideas in any way and just be with what is as it is.

Play as experienced at the Source of creation is characterized by two things. One is freedom of movement in any direction - to limits, no boundaries. Just total freedom of movement in any and all directions. The other is that nothing of which is created is, of itself, important. All is simply consciousness experiences itself in one direction or another where any one direction of movement is no less important or no more important than any other. Consciousness may experience one direction and preferred over another but at the most fundamental levels, nothing is more important than anything else which is possible.

The relationship of the Source, God and the Creator (Top)

There are many and varied beliefs about the Source of Creation, God, the Creator or any other name given to what gives rise to the Creation we experience. From the creativity perspective and the energy consciousness model for Creation, Creation recreates itself from within Creation. As such, the Creator is any consciousness that chooses one options over an other for that is the role of consciousness in the creative process. In this regard, we each are the Creator experiencing Its Creation. The topics “Creation Story for the Creativity Perspective,” the “Origins of Creation,” the “The observer - observed pair and the nature of duality” and “How the inner reflects the outer,” are a starting point to understand how this is possible.

Whatever we think God is, and from whatever tradition from which the concept of God comes from, any concept of God is only mind's interpretation of what how it sees and experiences Creation or what mind believes about the Source of Creation. Many spiritual traditions talk about the God within. It is the concept of the God within that is closest to what the creativity perspective would call God. That is, if the word God is replaced by the concept of the creator/Creator.

From the creativity perspective, the creator/Creator within is that within each of us is an individualized aspect of Consciousness, a creative spirit, a creator, animating our life and experiencing its creation, Yet, as in individualize aspect of Consciousness, Consciousness cannot separate itself from itself. That is the illusion of Creation created by the Mind of Consciousness. Hence, the infinity of Creation lies within the nonconscious of each individualize aspect of Consciousness and within each of us. As such we are simply Consciousness experiencing Its Creator or, alternatively said, we are the Creator experiencing Its Creation.

The Source of Creator is free, unbound and unconditional energy consciousness. Creation is energy consciousness bound and fixed into some form as determined by the focus of the attention and awareness of consciousness. In essence, all is the Source of Creation and to create anything, something part or all of the existing form must be dissolved to be recast into the new from. All that is is simply energy and consciousness moving in an ebb and flow into and out of form based on what consciousness thinks and believes.

Becoming the source/Source (Top)

It was said above that mind does not feel. It can recall the feeling of experiences we have had and it will interpret any feeling we have. It can even create feelings. In this regard, we can become the source/Source.

What needs to be understood, creative power only arises from feelings. We need a feelings to act. Feeling is the source/Source of Creation. However, consciousness can create feelings by how and what it chooses to believe. Creative ability is about how much feeling we can cause to arise within ourselves to act. When we create feeling, we becoming both the creator and the source.

As an existing human being, we are a creation manifested. We are the Creator experiencing its Creation whether we experiences ourselves as creator or the Creator is another issue. As a human, when we create feelings for, or against, something because of what we think and believe, we are being the creator. We will cause a creator to come into existence by the choices we make based on the feelings which our consciousness causes to arise. We do this all the time whether we realize it or not. As such we are a creativity machine which cannot create for our mind will always be causing feelings to arise for or against any one experience we have.

When we realize that everything that exists in the world created by a human being arose out of single thought held by some human being, we can step into the role of the Creator. Humanity likes to think there is a God standing outside Creation controlling Creator. But a equally valid view is that Creation recreates itself from within Creation. That is, as consciousness chooses what it experiences, it can choose a thought such that it awakens as Consciousness to one degree or another, and recreates Creation as a result of that thought. Hard as it is for our mind to conceive, it is a fact. The choice of a single human to conceive of a nuclear weapon has changed the course of the world. Atmospheric testing was causing significant radioactive debris to fall out of the atmosphere and be absorbed in human bodies until scientist realized that fact - humanity was literally poising itself by atmospheric testing. Similarly, the choice of a single human to burn wood to give heat has ultimately caused humanity to go from wood to coal and oil and burn fossil fuels for energy to apparently cause a change in the global warming rare.

We think humanity is causing such problems. We fail to consider the fact that may be the Creator is just playing with Its Creator from within Creation. Maybe we each need to grow up to the fact that we are creators/Creators and each of us have the possibility of causing all of Creation to change by how and what we think and believe and how we choose to act or not act on what we think and believe.

Summary (Top)

The most important thing that can be said about the Source of Creation is that it can only be experienced as a feeling. Experiences which provide us with a feeling of expansion and fulness of being are moving toward the Source. Experiences which provide us what a feeling of contraction and/or shrinking in any way are moving us away from the Source. The recommendation is to allow effectiveness to be our measure of truth and move toward those experiences of life that are allowing for a continual feeling of expansion and a fulness of being. These types and kinds of experiences are leading us into the infinity of our own being and toward the Source.
