It is stated in “The recovery of a creative spirit - a soul retrieval”: The following is a narrative of the events in the author’s life that gave rise to the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity understanding and its applications. It includes the sequence of events which lead up to his outward soul retrieval.

As described in the narrative, “The recovery of a creative spirit - a soul retrieval.” the author chose to undergo a shamanic soul retrieval to address the conditions that appeared to be arising in his life. However, because of the author’s lack of understanding at the time about how we create our experiences, he did not realized two things. One is how our inner world is reflected in the outer world. That is, inner changes occur before the outer changes and the inner flows out into the outer. It is analogous to the mantel of the earth and how the lava of the earth flows outward to form the shell of the planet we experience.

The second thing was that creative is the language of consciousness and what occurs in the outer world is a communication of our consciousness. What is created is only the best mind can give based on its past experiences and what can be expressed in the outer world as it currently exists. Or, alternatively said, what the environment can support. It does not necessarily accurately reflect what consciousness is trying to communicate. It is only the best that mind can express based on its past experiences and current conditions. As such we need to learn to interpret the communication.

Since the author did not understand these two things at the time of the Ultimate Accident and soul retrieval, he did not see the statement "Your head is not connected to you body," as a communication from the consciousness within his creative spirit reflected externally. He was not aware that his creative spirit was consciously was aware of the separation of the heart and mind and he was undergoing the process of connecting the two. That is in fact why is surfaced externally in his life. The wise thing would have been for him to just continue to allow himself to surrender to what he was feeling. However, rather than surrender to the feelings to allow what is symbolized in the heart to intend the direction for his life and mind attend to the details, he allowed mind to intend the direction. That caused the freedom he saw being released in his life and in his world become captured by the past.

In hind sight, the actual soul retrieval did not retrieve his soul. His soul was already in the process of awakening and reconstituting itself. The dormant parts of his being necessary to fulfill the intention for his current incarnation were awakening and the outward desire/need for a soul retrieval was only a communication as to what was happening internally. However, the author’s mind acted on it as if a soul retrieval was necessary. In regards to mind, a soul retrieval was absolutely necessary for that is what his mind understood given the author past experiences. Since the author’s past experiences in this life gave him no deeper wisdom, all it could do was do a soul retrieval. It is here a profound wisdom and lesson learned is available to us.

In understanding the creation process and how creativity is the language of consciousness filter through mind and its past experiences, we can look to the creation process to see where mind may be limiting our options to find a  faster, easier, gentler and more playful way to manifest what our consciousness desires to experience. In this regard, the value in the author’s story is to reveal the creation process relative to transforming our life and becoming the phoenix and bring the path of the mind and that of the heart, the
mystical path, into alignment. In the authors’ life, he transformed himself to move into alignment with his reason for incarnating having lived his life outside of it or in separation from it. But the process is not different for anything we wish to create with, and in, our life.

We need to learn to dance between the heart and the mind to create anything in our life. The internal changes need to be made first in mind and what we think and believe and then surrender to the flow. Those internal changes are then reflected in some type and kind of experience externally. However, whatever is experienced is filtered through mind and what is available in the external world as it currently exists. In a different environment and/or with a different way of thinking and believing, the same thought will usually create a different experience. The same thought will create similar experiences but they will be different and sometimes substantially different. We need to remember to not respond to the world as if our intention is unfulfilled. Rather, we need to be ready to iterate the process as the events change to reflect our intention.

We need to realize the only difference in aligning with the intention for one’s life and creating from within that intention as opposed to creating from whatever one currently thinks and believes is one of feeling. Creating from within the intention for one’s life provides an inner feeling of wholeness, oneness, integration and a seeming magic to Creation. Creating from whatever mind thinks and believes based on it past experiences results in a feeling of separation, aloneness and that something is missing in whatever one creates. What is missing is that conscious or nonconscious awareness of the source of one’s being for it remains nonconscious, asleep and dormant.

Relative to an inner and outer soul retrieval, the inner soul retrieval was on going through the nonconscious journey into creativity which started early in life by the incessant questioning of “Why?” The outer soul retrieval was only a reflection of that the inner journey had reached a critical mass of understanding and experience such that a sufficient reconstitution of his creative spirit had occurred such that the outer now had to reflect the inner changes. Yet the outer was really reflecting the inner all through the process at a nonconscious level. In essence, a critical mass of life experienced had been accumulated or were assembled through the use of the internal compass such that the nonconscious direction for the authors’ life, his
mystical path, became reflected outwardly. In essence he gained that minimum set of requisite experience to understand there was a purpose and direction for his life. There was something his creative spirit desired to do. But the path could only be felt and known mentally only in hindsight. In time the mystical path would merge with the professional path and a new life, a new way of being in the world would occur. But is was as an unfoldment and an evolution.

Markers existed in the author’s life to reflect significant shift much like earthquakes represent significant shifts in gradual movement of the surface of the earth. However, most of the movement was slow and evolutionary. To the casual observer, he was just living life and undergoing many of the seemingly random changes we have to our life. Yet, in hindsight, a definite and evolutionary movement from an enculturated external focus with its emphasis on external direction to an internal focus which was control by author’s relative nonconscious use of his internal compass. It is said that it was a relatively nonconscious use of his internal compass because the concept of the internal compass did not readily appear as a concept to the author until after the Ultimate Accident. Prior to the Ultimate Accident, the author did consciously use an internal feeling to guide him through much of his life but he never saw it as an internal compass that was guiding his life. In this regard, if he would have stayed with the feeling and the internal compass after the soul retrieval, he could have created a faster, easier,  gentler and more playful process. But then he would not have gain the awareness of the process and lessons learned for others to understand how and why a faster, easier,  gentler and more playful way could be created.

Here again, there are experiences we incarnated to have. Obtaining those experiences will be an influence in our life. We cannot know the experiences before hand but we can feel the direction we need to go and create a life that allows us to follow the feelings. We need to become sufficiently mindful and aware to allow what is symbolized in our heart to intend the direction of our life and our mind attend to the details to make it happen in a safe fashion
. That is, we need to learn to navigate from the heart.
